Lonely Goat Running Club were in attendance at the 2023 edition of the National Running Show at Birmingham’s NEC, on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January.
This is the fourth time we’ve had a stand and, as always, it was a pleasure to meet so many members of the Herd. It’s also a great opportunity for us to spread the Lonely Goat message to runners who are new to us.
Thank you to everyone who came by the stand and said hello. You all made our time at the show so special. The comments we received were lovely:
“I love the idea of the Lonely Goats. That’s really perked me up. I always wanted to join a club and this sounds so supportive.”
“Whenever I meet a Lonely Goat, they are always so friendly, the most supportive club out there. Gives people a real sense of belonging who can’t join a traditional club. Keep up the good work.”
“During lockdown, Lonely Goat kept me going.”
“I love the idea of just being a Goat and running free with no pressure on times.”
For us, the HQ team, the National Running Show left us feeling positive and optimistic about the future of running after a couple of difficult years. There are so many enthusiastic people out there, and events and races seem more certain than they have in a long time. The buzz is back!
