We had an amazing weekend!
Lonely Goat Running Club attended the National Running Show at Birmingham’s NEC last weekend, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2020. We had a great time, meeting loads of Goats and non-Goats alike.
Our stand was close to the middle of the show and we had a constant stream of visitors from the moment the event opened, right through to the end.

A real highlight for us was meeting so many of the Lonely Goat community. As an online running club, any opportunity to meet fellow members face to face is always appreciated. We loved hearing about your running adventures and your goals for the future.

We also enjoyed explaining what we were about to new people who perhaps hadn’t heard of us before. We were amazed how many of them said they had seen people wearing the Lonely Goat club kit and had come over to the stand to find out more. Thank you so much to all of you who have helped spread the word by representing the Herd at events all over the country.
In addition to the Lonely Goat team, there were hundreds of exhibitors and speakers to see. There was something for all runners, from absolute beginners to experienced ultramarathoners; and from those who run for their own health and wellbeing, to those who run to compete.

The speakers included athletics legends, such as Kris Akabusi, Steve Cram, Sally Gunnell, Jo Pavey and Iwan Thomas; ultramarathon idols Camille Herron, Dean Karnazes, Lazarus Lake and Nicky Spinks; and inspiring talks from the likes of Anna McNuff, Chris Nicholson, Jess Robson and Greg Whyte.
It was a packed programme and we had a fantastic couple of days – even if we’re all now a bit hoarse from talking to so many people!
We cannot wait for the 2021 National Running Show where we hope to meet even more of you.
