The Lewa Safari Marathon is definitely on the Lonely Goat HQ team’s bucket lists. The course goes through the Lewa Conversation Park in Kenya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sharing the trails with lions, hyenas and wild dogs. No wonder it features on so many ‘must-run events’ lists.

Because of Covid-19, this year’s race is a virtual one. So even though you won’t be able to run in Kenya, you can still take part in the event – covering distances from 5 to 42.195 km.
It’s free to enter, and you can choose to make a donation to support Tusk’s community and conservation work in Kenya.
Make a positive difference
For more than thirty years, Tusk has supported forward-thinking and successful conservation work across Africa. Their goal is a future in which people and wildlife can both thrive across the continent.
The Virtual Lewa Safari Marathon is one of Tusk’s most important events and is supported by the explorers Levison Wood and George Bullard, HRH Duke of Cambridge, and marathon great, Eliud Kipchoge.
To me, a running world is a happy world. Please join me in a global running movement to support the guardians of wildlife and our natural heritage as they continue to feel the negative effects of the pandemic. On the 26th June, wherever you are in the world, run the Virtual Lewa Safari Marathon.
