We have joined 1% for the Planet!

As runners, cyclists, and people who enjoy spending time in the outdoors, Lonely Goat members know how important it is to protect our natural environment. It is a big priority for us as a business and always something we consider when making decisions.

That is why we have joined 1% for the Planet.

The positive differences we can make

In 2019, we switched the fabric used in our club tops to Repreve, a synthetic fibre made out of recycled plastic (mostly bottles). By using recycled plastic rather than virgin plastic, not only does less plastic end up in landfill, but we help reduce the negative processes associated with petroleum extraction.

Though our use of Repreve was a big step in the right direction, there is still much more we can do, and we are working to make more positive changes. With this in mind, we are excited to share the news that we have joined 1% for the Planet.

1% for the Planet

1% for the Planet is a global organisation that inspires people to support environmental organisations through annual membership and everyday actions, so that our planet and future generations thrive.

Started in 2002, 1% for the Planet members have since given more than £170 million to environmental charities and not-for-profit organisations to date.

Giving back

Lonely Goat have joined more than 2,000 other business members from over 45 countries and pledged to give 1% of our revenue back to the environment, by donating directly to charities working hard to protect our natural world.

We will announce our first environmental partner soon, so please watch this space.

Your support will make a positive difference

This means that for every pound you spend in the Lonely Goat Shop, 1% will be used to protect the natural environment that we all love and get so much pleasure from.
